Surrounded on all sides by sea and dependent on overseas countries for large numbers of resources, the sea plays a vitally important role for Japan. Against this background, the Taiheiyo Kisen Group has worked to build solid international competitiveness, and to win the firm confidence of customers by maintaining efficient and reliable shipping services. Executives and employees work as a team to ensure that we remain the partner of choice for our customers, as we build the value of our company and maintain the motto we have proudly followed since our foundation: “Long-term stable transportation and highly transparent operations.” |

While it is natural for companies to seek profits, they must also comply with laws, practice social ethics, and respect the environment. As a corporate citizen, the Taiheiyo Kisen Group embraces these precepts as part of its corporate philosophy. Conscious that each person in the Group is also a member of society, we keep this corporate philosophy in mind at all times and carry out fair and free corporate activities. |

We specialize in the transportation of the raw materials and fuels of cargo
owners who are also our principal shareholders. While our main overseas cargos are nickel ore — a non-ferrous ore used to make stainless steel — and bauxite, used to make aluminum, we also carry coal for power generation. In addition to transporting these cargoes from overseas, we also accept domestic cargoes such as bulk cement, cracking gasoline, ethylene, crude heavy oil, and coal, or consign them to our subsidiaries. Other services include long-term fixed-period ship leasing operations for third-party ship operators and managing the shipping operations of our largest shareholder and parent company, NYK Line. Finally, in addition to the above services, we also aim to move into ship overseas goods for third-party cargo owners. |
